Early AAA Members

For more than 100 years, AAA has steadfastly represented the interests of its members. We were founded in 1902, in part as an advocacy organization to improve the quality and safety of the nation's roadways.

Among the hallmarks of AAA's work has been a dedication to continually improving safety for the motoring public. But we also recognize the need to balance environmental concerns with the public's cherished right to travel and their right to a safe, efficient and flexible transportation system that meets their needs.

AAA represents its 51 million members on a variety of national issues. We take that responsibility very seriously, including doing our part to ensure a safe environment for future generations.
