The History Center is a building in downtown Bloomington, Indiana, one block east of the Square at the corner of 6th and Washington Streets. It is home of the Monroe County Historical Society, the museum, genealogy library, and store.
Admission to the Museum is free to members (and a number of guests depending on membership level). For the Current and Permanent Exhibits, adults' admission is $2 and for children 5 - 17 admission is $1; 4 & under free.
Museum Hours: Tues-Sat 10am-4pm.
The museum store has a full selection of Monroe County and Indiana history related books, music, and gift items including all genealogy items published by the Society, as well as used books and seasonal holiday items. We also sell gift cards! Our store has been cited as one of the finest both as to variety and historical focus. Items for all ages are available so come in and see us.
Store Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, closed Sundays, Mondays and major Holidays.
