On the square in downtown Scottsburg is one of Indiana's most unique restaurants. Jeeves and Company, formerly known as Company's Coming, is the creation of owners Chris and Ruby Wakeman. The restaurant offers innovative American cuisine, including steak, chicken and pasta dishes, along with weekly specials and mouth-watering desserts, served in a warm, cozy atmosphere. At one time, the Wakeman's operated an antique business, which is actually how they decided to open the restaurant. A number of their customers came from out of town and frequently asked about a place to eat that didn't serve fast food. That gave Ruby the idea to open a restaurant and today the Wakemans are no longer in the antique business, they now devote their time solely to their restaurant. Their interest in period furnishings is evident throughout the restaurant, where many antiques are displayed and add to the atmosphere. The Wakemans opened Jeeves and Company in 1987 as Company's Coming. They began by serving lunch but as their reputation as a unique restaurant serving excellent food became established, added dinners and moved into a larger facility. Jeeves, the name of a fictional butler created by P.G. Wodehouse, is symbolic of the quality service provided at the restaurant.

Jeeves and Company is housed in a building that dates to 1910 and has had many uses over the years including a hardware store, savings and loan, an insurance agency, and a shoe store. The room that now serves as the gift shop once housed a restaurant. All rooms except the gift shop have original tin ceilings; the gift shop has a tin replacement. Jeeves and Company has been featured on television, including Louisville Tonight Live and the Morning Show on Wave 3 Louisville. The couple and their restaurant have received several awards, including an award from Historic Landmarks of Indiana for excellence in adaptive re-use of a historic building. The restaurant was featured in that organization's monthly publication. In addition, the restaurant has been voted one of the top three restaurants in Indiana by the Indiana Association of Cities and has received awards from the Scottsburg Beautification Committee, Scott County Community Foundation, and Scott County YMCA. The restaurant was also winner of the Heart Competition, held in Jeffersonville, In. in 1999.
