Since the odometer is the device responsible for recording mileage on your car, and since mileage is so critical in determining the value of your car, you need to be very careful here. The thing to remember is; if the odometer is replaced, you have to make sure that the proper documentation is provided, and also that a disclosure decal is attached to the drivers side doorjamb. Make sure that when you sell or trade the vehicle that you properly disclose any odometer discrepancies. It’s the law.
